Clover to merchandise all Danone products
With effect from 1 May 2011, Danone Southern Africa will outsource all its merchandising to Clover. All current Danone merchandisers will be transferred to Clover, under the same employment terms and conditions and Clover will complete all merchandising tasks on behalf of Danone.
Focused on in-store execution excellence, the new strategy will materially strengthen the company's national field sales operation in South Africa, broadening the company's footprint and capturing the potential for stronger growth.
"Clover is a longstanding third party partner and is a leading merchandising operator in the fresh products category. We believe this new arrangement will assist us to achieve excellence in in-store execution and on-shelf availability," said Mario Reis, CEO of Danone Southern Africa.
Effective 1 June 2011, the company will create additional employment opportunities with the introduction of new positions in field sales. This stronger field sales team is in line with the company's focus on driving growth through in-store execution within its top national customers.
"The additional jobs created are an indication of our commitment to providing more employment opportunities to South Africans and are in line with the government's New Growth Path," concludes Reis.
