 | Writer (Cricket/Golf)Highbury Media T/A Habari Media is an independent magazine and digital publishing company responsible for some of the best-performing titles. We are currently looking for a Writer for our Sports brands. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Daily updates of Cricket and Golf sites with press releases and wire copy
- Compile regulars such as county cricket wraps
- Write a monthly feature for Sport print issue
- Create topical content such as polls, quizzes
- Compile, update, and work to a weekly diary based on the schedules of relevant team and/or competitions
- Write news stories using information from press releases or other sources
- Write opinion pieces when required
Requirements:- Show a willingness to develop writing and video skills and grow within the company
- Ensure all content produced is factual, engaging, reader-friendly and of a high standard
- Show an understanding of writing for different audiences, including adapting language and tone
- Develop your sources and contacts within professional networks
- Show initiative and the ability to work unsupervised
- Exercise good time management and meet all deadlines
- Fact-check and self-edit all work
- Good time management skills
