About the role
We're looking for a highly motivated, digital-savvy sales consultant to join our team – whether you're a recent graduate eager to kickstart your career in travel tech or a professional looking for a change of pace in a dynamic and impactful industry. Ideally, you have 0-2 years of relevant work experience and a strong understanding of the African travel landscape, with in-depth knowledge of destinations in South Africa or Namibia (Botswana, Kenya, Rwanda, and Tanzania are a plus). You're passionate about crafting unique, personalised travel experiences that benefit both travellers and local communities. You're a natural communicator, a creative problem-solver, and a sustainability enthusiast eager to contribute to a fast-paced, high-growth startup.
Key responsibilities- Design and curate exceptional, tailor-made travel itineraries that align with our sustainability values
- Leverage our technology platform to provide a seamless booking experience for our customers
- Collaborate with our product and tech teams to enhance our platform and develop innovative solutions
- Contribute to our marketing efforts by creating engaging content and promoting our offerings
- Analyse data and customer feedback to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Stay informed about the latest travel tech trends and sustainability initiatives
- Provide valuable feedback to our product development team to help shape the future of our platform
- Work closely with our tourism and technology experts to contribute to the evolution of travel tech
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- Extensive knowledge of African travel destinations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Passion for sustainable travel and technology
- Self-starter mentality and ability to work independently
It's a big PLUS if you have one or more of the following qualities- Experience with CRM software and data analysis tools
- Familiarity with the Google Suite and Wetu
- Previous experience in a fast-paced startup environment
- Our ideal candidate is based in Cape Town, South Africa.
Compensation- Base Salary: Above industry-related base salary (depending on experience and destination knowledge in our key destinations)
- Additional personal commission: 10% of the gross profit of your sales
- Additional team bonus: 10% of base salary is offered upon target achievement of the whole team
