    What's making headlines this week?

    Acumen Media has released this week's analysis of the biggest stories covered in South African media.

    Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane dominated the country's psyche for a number of reasons - taking up one-third of the national conversation. The ongoing State Capture Inquiry, this week, focused on the Gupta-associated Estina Dairy Farm with particular attention paid to attempts on the witnesses' lives.

    The recent spate of cold weather, particularly in Cape Town, had many looking for ways to keep warm.

    Public enterprises minister Pravin Gordhan has now taken on the scourge of the Economic Freedom Fighters. While former tourism minister Derek Hanekom has also come under fire from Julius Malema's party, claiming that Hanekom was in on the ousting of former ANC president Jacob Zuma.
