A global organisation of independent professional services firms providing audit, tax and advisory services, helping clients navigate complex strategic challenges using cutting-edge technologies such as AI, IoT, robotics, and advanced analytics, seeks a data engineer (ESG specialist) with fresh perspectives to drive innovation and efficiency in client operations.
Responsibilities:
- Design data across the full range from fast/clean ETL streams through to automation.
- Ability to use big data technologies.
- Ability to use ESG frameworks to assess an organisation's business practices and performance on various sustainability and ethical issues.
- Utilise ESG frameworks to measure business risks and opportunities.
- Identify key performance improvement opportunities.
- Create data validation models and ensure data quality.
- Work with clients and other team members to identify key data requirements.
- Write appropriate algorithms to interpret and serve the relevant data.
- Build robust data solutions.
- Have an ambition to design data-driven applications with an ability to assess trade-offs in architectural decisions.
Qualifications and experience:
- Degree or national diploma.
- Associate level MS certifications.
- Two to five years’ experience.
- Experience in ESG frameworks.
- An ambition to design data-driven applications with an ability to assess trade-offs in architectural decisions.
- Fluency in reasoning about relational and non-relational databases.
Advanced knowledge of:
SQL, PL/SQL
Python
R
MS Azure
The reference number for this position is NG60321. It is a permanent, hybrid position in Johannesburg offering a salary of R350,000 up to R550,000 per annum, negotiable based on experience.
