A leading African integrated workplace management solutions provider with over 50-years of experience are looking for a junior data engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and systems to support analytics and reporting as well as ensure data quality, integration, and governance to enable business insights.

Responsibilities:

Data engineering:

• Develop and optimize data pipelines for efficient processing.
• Maintain data marts and ensure consistency across systems.

Data integration and governance:

• Manage ETL processes, ensuring data integrity and alignment with governance standards.
• Document source-target mappings and perform data validation checks.

Visualisation and reporting:

• Create Power BI dashboards for business insights.
• Continuously improve visualisation tools for accessibility.

Collaboration and support:

• Work with IT, business units, and data scientists to meet analytics needs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline issues promptly.

Qualifications and experience:

• Diploma in Informatics, Statistics, Data Engineering, or related (BSc/BCom advantageous).
• Two-plus years with Azure Synapse or AWS.
• Proficient in Python, SQL, Power BI and SSIS ETL.
• Experience in dimensional modelling (Ralph Kimball methodologies preferred).
• Power BI skills (DAX) and familiarity with data governance and validation.
• Advantageous: Data Bricks, Power Apps, Power Automate.

The Reference Number for this position is NG60069 which is a Permanent, on-site position based in Johannesburg offering a salary of R380,000 up to R480,000 per annum, salary negotiable based on experience.
