A top telecoms hub is on the lookout for a skilled GIS Developer to join their team and contribute to the development, deployment, and maintenance of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) solutions. You will be part of a cross-functional team at the forefront of network expansion responsible for the full software development life cycle.

The successful candidate must have experience in GIS software, spatial data management, and geospatial technologies. This role is for a team player with a knack for visual design and utility

This is what you need to land an interview:

• Minimum of three years of experience as a GIS Developer, GIS Analyst, or a similar role.
• Proficiency with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
• Experience with programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or SQL.
• Familiarity with spatial databases (e.g., PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Oracle Spatial).
• Knowledge of web mapping frameworks (e.g., Leaflet, OpenLayers, ArcGIS API for JavaScript).
• Experience with GIS server technologies (e.g., ArcGIS Server, GeoServer).
• Analytical skills: Strong spatial analysis and problem-solving skills, with an ability to work with large datasets and create effective visualisations.
• Other skills: Excellent communication skills for collaboration and presenting findings to stakeholders. Strong attention to detail, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple tasks

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.

Reference number for this position is MAT59962 which is a six-month contract with the possibility of going perm. The position is based in Pretoria offering a market-related salary based on experience and ability.
