Azure Data Scientist

As a Azure data scientist, you will be responsible for leveraging advanced machine learning, artificial intelligence, and statistical models to solve complex business challenges using Microsoft Azure’s data science and cloud technologies. This role requires a blend of data science expertise and cloud proficiency, working closely with stakeholders to develop data-driven strategies and deliver impactful insights.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s or higher degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Computational Mathematics, Quantitative Fields, Computer Science, or Finance
• Strong knowledge of machine learning, AI, and data analytics principles.
• Technical Proficiency:
• Strong expertise in Python, Spark, Azure AI/ML services, and Power BI.
• Experience with real-time data processing, IoT, and sensor data pipelines (advantageous)
• Ability to work on large-scale AI projects with a high degree of accuracy.
• Business and soft skills:
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Ability to translate AI insights into practical business solutions
• Excellent communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels
• Experience in training and knowledge transfer for technical and non-technical users
• Microsoft Azure Data Scientist Associate (or equivalent)

Responsibilities:

• Set up and manage Data Lakes on Microsoft Azure
• Ingest data from various sources, including sensors, databases, and logs, using Azure Data Factory or Azure Stream Analytics
• Transform and prepare data to ensure high-quality input for machine learning models
• Perform feature selection and data engineering to optimize model performance
• Build, deploy, and refine predictive machine learning models on Azure
• Monitor and maintain models, setting up alerts for anomalies and performance drifts
• Integrate AI/ML insights into business applications to drive decision-making
• Develop training materials and conduct sessions for IT and business users

Reference Number for this position is GZ60255 which is a contract position based in Johannesburg, Sandton offering rate of between R480 and R600 pe r hour negotiable on experience and ability.
