Plant Engineer - Automotive
Our client in the automotive industry is looking for a plant engineer in the Eastern Cape, Port Elizabeth area.
Requirements:- Degree/Diploma in electrical engineering
- Certifications: Government Certificate of Competency (Factories) (GCC)
- Previous GMR (2) appointment and responsibility
- Automotive industry experience is a top priority
- Maintenance engineering experience covering all engineering disciplines (electrical/mechanical/instrumentation)
- Six or more years in plant engineering-related roles
Responsibilities:- Equipment maintenance and reliability: Develop and execute preventive maintenance programmes, conduct regular inspections, and collaborate with maintenance teams to troubleshoot equipment failures
- Process optimisation: Identify opportunities for process improvement, analyse production processes, and implement best practices to enhance productivity and quality
- Safety and compliance: Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, conduct risk assessments, and lead safety training sessions to promote a culture of safety
- Project management: Lead engineering projects related to plant expansion, upgrades, or modifications, ensuring timely completion within budget and quality standards
- All GMR (2) responsibilities including root cause analyses and investigation of incidents
- Ensure the achievement of the overall objectives of manufacturing services and maintenance
- Project management including the commissioning of new equipment
- Preparation and management of annual budgets
