"We believe in showing long term support to our beneficiaries, it's the only way that business can make a substantial impact in the community through their Corporate Social Investment initiatives," says Public Relations and Corporate Social Investment Manager for Algoa FM, Jennilee Peremore.
Listeners are encouraged to join Algoa FM presenters and staff at their respective beneficiaries on Friday, the 17th of July. A detailed list of the charities' needs and relevant contact details have been loaded on a special Mandela Day page on the Algoa FM website.
"We love getting our listeners involved in our community projects, because it increases support for the charities," says Peremore.
The charities include ACVV Kamvalethu, Masifunde Learner Development and KICK (Early Childhood Development Centre) based in Port Elizabeth, The Haven Wellness Centre in East London and Eden Lions in George.
All the beneficiaries will be interviewed on Saturday, 18 July, to inform listeners about the organisations' progress and the difference made through the community's support.
"It's been noted by these organisations that the greatest value in being an Algoa Cares Golf Day beneficiary is the awareness that we create about the work they do in the community which enables them to garner the support of other corporates," says Peremore.
