The brainchild of musician Jacobus Silwer unearthed awesome talent in its first year and will no doubt do so again this year.
According to OFM General Manager, Nick Efstathiou, aspiring musicians in the City of Roses should not let this great opportunity pass them by.
“Local artists often struggle to break through in the notoriously tough music industry and that is why this project is so important. It’s so much more than just a talent competition. It teaches aspiring musicians the ins and outs of a very demanding, very dynamic industry. We look forward to once again being a part of their journey.”
The competition is open to solo artists, groups and choirs. Entries are judged on originality, melody, lyrics, emotional impact, structure and quality of recording.
Prizes up for grabs include a music video, 12 vocal training sessions, a single-track recording and hampers from TOMS. In addition, 15 songs will be chosen to feature on the compilation album, All The Way From Bloem 2019.
Entries are now open and entry forms are available on OFM’s website at www.ofm.co.za. Closing date for entries is 31 January 2019. To enter, you must currently reside in the Greater Mangaung area, i.e. Bloemfontein, Botshabelo, Dewetsdorp, Mangaung, Soutpan, Vanstadensrus, Thaba Nchu and Wepener.
