Highlights of the release include more than 100 000 new addresses added to the National Address Database (NAD), with more than 9.2 million addresses in total, coverage of more than 1.8 million km of road in Africa, including 600 000 km of road in South Africa and more than 200 000 Points of Interest (POI) and 63 000 businesses. The Data Release now also contains a "Track Record", indicating the growth per dataset.
The data shows features demonstrations of innovative products derived from AfriGIS datasets, which never seize to amaze attendees on how versatile the datasets and applications thereof are.
AfriGIS solutions highlighted by Chief Business Officer, Brian Civin, included:
- An AfriGIS Forms Solution for an SABS solar inspection and administration system
- The official Gautrain app, developed by AfriGIS
- AfriGIS Navigator, now also available on iPhone & including live traffic updates
- Marbil Mobile Marketing & Campaign Management reaching 10 billion impressions
