Iniel Dreyer, a stalwart in the South African data management and backup arena, was appointed to head up DMP South Africa as the local Managing Director (MD).

He is passionate about Information Technology (IT). He started his career working in a Personal Computer (PC) upgrade centre but gained extensive international experience early on in his career working on a number of international projects. He joined Shell Services International in the UK and Malaysia as a Microsoft Systems Engineer, managing their Microsoft Exchange email platform. He then moved onto Microsoft's Consulting Service in the Middle East as an infrastructure consultant, further garnering experience with the vendor. After his return to South Africa, he joined Chisa Technologies as their CTO and progressed to become Operations Director. It was here that he led their Dell, VMWare, Microsoft and Commvault business units.

Furthermore, his extensive experience in the industry enabled him to harness the personal relationships that he formed with customers over the years, allowing him to open up his service offerings to clients that have been working alongside him for years.

Having a solid understanding of IT infrastructure provided the foundation for him to specialise in data management solutions, forming Gabsten Technologies in 2009. This move was in response to the requirement for a Commvault services, support and training partner that delivers post sales service in South Africa. Gabsten has obtained numerous Commvault certifications over the years and is the only Accredited Commvault Support and Training partner in South Africa. The company provides critical support including implementation assistance and maintenance to partners and their end-user customers. Gabsten also launched their own cloud-based backup solution - CloudProtect - which is built on Commvault's technology, the most comprehensive data management platform available today.
