I completed my studies at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, with a focus on the impact of digital media on traditional media. My duties at the Cape Times included covering local news such as politics, crime, health and a number of other beats. For my last few years at the newspaper, I specialised in education writing, covering the schools and universities sector. Throughout my career, I have been proud of my ability to write high quality copy to daily intense deadlines.

I am a believer in constantly learning new skills. I recently completed my Google Analytics certification and online short courses in Project Management, Time Management, Strategic Management, and Negotiation and Conflict Resolution. In order to make the transition between journalism and digital marketing, I completed the University of Cape Town and GetSmarter Copywriting for Online Marketing course. I learned how to write copy for online spaces, how to write persuasive headlines and calls to action, how to write for social media and how to optimise copy for search engines.

I decided to study journalism because I am passionate about and interested in all forms of media. It is my belief that my abilities to communicate and self-motivate are important in my chosen field. I work very well without supervision, to a deadline, alone or in a group.
