Brands, a digital platform at the forefront of brand insights. In 2020, he launched Lerato Agency, a PR and Digital Creative Agency. He is committed to youth empowerment, creating the Top 16 Youth-Owned Brands Awards
Pat Mahlangu is an award-winning Brandpreneur, and the founder of Pat on
Brands, a digital platform at the forefront of brand insights. With over 12 years of experience,
Pat holds a BCom Information Management, BCom Honours Marketing Management, and
MCom Business Management from the University of Johannesburg (UJ). He is an
internationally certified digital marketer. In 2020, he launched Lerato Agency, a PR and
Digital Creative Agency. He is committed to youth empowerment, creating the Top 16 Youth-
Owned Brands Awards. Pat previously lectured at UJ and Boston Media House and has
served on various industry bodies, including IAB South Africa, AMASA, Brand Africa,
Tshwane University of Technology’s Department of Marketing ,Supply Chain and Sports
Management where he was an advisory board member. He is Brand South Africa’s Play
Your Part Ambassador - an initiative created to inspire, empower and celebrate active
citizenship in South Africa. In 2023, he was named one of the Top 200 Young South Africans
by Mail & Guardian and was honoured as the Emerging Marketer of the Year by IMM. Pat
co-authored The Book Every Marketer Should Most Definitely Read, which was published in
2024 and was named recognised by Sunday World and an Unsung Hero in
Entrepreneurship.
