Senior Bookkeeper - George - Western Cape

My client, a successful accounting firm in George, is looking for a Senior Bookkeeper to join their team in January.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate financial statements, managing tax submissions, and ensuring compliance with all relevant financial regulations.

Salary:
R15 000 basic (NOT negotiable)

Key Responsibilities:

• Bookkeeping
  
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Process all accounting transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
  • Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts.
• Trial Balance
  
  • Prepare monthly trial balance.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Financial Statements
  
  • Prepare and present financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Assist in financial analysis and reporting.
• Tax Management
  
  • Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE, and Income Tax returns.
  • Ensure compliance with SARS regulations.
  • Stay updated on tax legislation changes.
• Audit Support
  
  • Provide assistance during internal and external audits.
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Bookkeeping / Accounting; Finance
• Minimum of 5 years experience in Bookkeeping
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g Pastel; Xero; Quickbooks)
• Advanced Excel skills
