A company that forms part of the construction industry, is looking for a bookkeeper to trail balance and administrator. This role will be a combination of both of these roles. Based in George in the Western Cape.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records, including managing invoices, receipts, and payments
- Perform regular bank reconciliations and ensure accounts are balanced
- Prepare financial reports and assist with budgeting processes
- Handle payroll administration and related queries
- Manage office supplies, filing systems, and other general administrative tasks
- Assist with HR tasks, such as maintaining employee records and processing leave requests
- Support management with any ad-hoc tasks or special projects
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper, with a strong understanding of accounting principles
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage)
- Strong administrative skills and familiarity with office management procedures
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent organisational and time-management abilities
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A diploma or certificate in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related field
- Two+ years of experience in a bookkeeping or administrative role
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
