Job Description:

Rawkraft Media, a dynamic TV production company based in Randburg, Johannesburg, is seeking a junior/mid-level video editor to join our multi-platform post-production team. The ideal candidate should be passionate about storytelling, have a solid understanding of the reality TV production process, and be proficient in the editing and post-production workflows.

In this role, the Video Editor will work on multiple projects each week with tight deadlines and will be expected to manage their own schedule to ensure timely delivery. The position also requires working closely with clients to understand their vision, effectively incorporating feedback, and navigating the revision process.

Key responsibilities:

• Collaborate within a multi-platform post-production team to deliver high-quality video content.
• Edit video footage with a focus on strong storytelling, adhering to the creative direction and client requirements.
• Manage multiple editing projects simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines.
• Self-schedule and prioritise tasks to ensure timely completion of projects.
• Actively participate in the revision process, working with clients to ensure their feedback is incorporated effectively.
• Ensure the final product meets both internal and client standards.

Qualifications and experience:

• Minimum of three years of experience in video editing, ideally in a TV production or media environment.
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and Media Encoder.
• A Diploma or Degree in Film, Video, Media, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong understanding of video and audio production/editing techniques.
• Exceptional time-management skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to collaborate effectively with other team members and clients.
• Keen attention to detail and the ability to take direction from multiple sources.
• Proactive and self-motivated, with a positive and collaborative team-oriented attitude.
• A solid understanding of timing, music selection, video formats, and storytelling.
• Experience with motion design software is a plus, but not essential.
• A strong desire to learn new editing techniques and stay updated on emerging video content trends.
