An exciting opportunity has emerged for a junior accounts clerk to join our expanding import and distribution company in the pet industry, located in Northlands Deco Park. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing customer accounts, processing orders, maintaining accurate ifnancial records and supporting the senior accounts clerk in general accouting tasks. This role requires an individual who is highly organised, meticulous, and a motivated team player who works well under pressure, follows instructions and completes tasks timeously and efficiently. 

Key roles and responsibilities

• Responsible for processing orders by coordinating with the warehouse and customers to address stock discrepancies and availability, ensuring accurate system pricing and discounts and verifying courier charges align with historical rates. 
• Invoicing customers and ensuring accuracy against original sales orders and picking slip from the warehouse.
• Processing credit notes
• Processing quotations.
• Manually processing invoices, credit notes and statements on key account online portals.
• Creating product codes and inputting all product information for new stocks received.
• Managing the collection and consolidation of P.O.D's, invoices and statements to wholesalers, retailers and C.O.D accounts
• Responsible for organising and maintaining physical and digital financial records

Requirements:

• Matric/Grade 12 with strong performance in Mathematics and/or Accounting
• Diploma or Certificate in Finance, Accounting or Bookkeeping
• Minimum 2 years experience as an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or Junior Accounts Clerk or similar role
• Proficiency in MS Offce, in particular Excel
• Sage Pastel or similar accounting software knowledge and experience
• Bilingual in English and Afrikaans
• Valid drivers license with own reliable transport
• Understanding of bookkeeping principles and general ledger maintenance
• Proficiency in data entry and management
• Good written and verbal communication skills
