Creative director
Key purpose:
Develop strong relationships with both existing and potential clients, gaining a deep understanding of the brands under management to interrogate any brief or strategy effectively. Guide clients, creative teams, and production to deliver world-class strategy, ideas, execution, and results.
1) Strategic responsibilities (clients)
- Define and support the desired corporate vision and values, utilising disruptive methods when appropriate.
- Set the optimal strategic direction aligned with the corporate vision, using disruptive techniques when possible.
2) Operational responsibilities (creative department)
- Assist executive creative directors in building the creative reputation of Hunt Lascaris.
- Take accountability for ensuring all creative output consistently meets high-quality standards.
- Lead creative teams to produce and craft original and impactful ideas, art direction, and copy, proactively or in response to briefs.
- Present creative work clearly, professionally, and impactfully, both internally and externally.
- Stay informed on trends, popular culture, and relevant ideas to ensure the work remains innovative and contemporary.
- Demonstrate a passion for continual refinement and improvement of craft.
- Contribute to enhancing the company’s reputation through local and international awards.
3) Key relationships (strategy and account management)
- Maintain strong relations with senior members of client teams.
- Collaborate with strategy and account management to manage creative team expectations and seek opportunities to improve the work.
- Work with strategy and account management to understand the client’s brand, helping manage projects that support the delivery of iconic work.
- Foster collaboration within the creative department and across other Hunt Lascaris departments.
4) Business management
- Develop and nurture client relationships to support the delivery of outstanding creative work.
- Help schedule work efficiently, prioritising workload within creative teams to meet client expectations.
- Participate in new business pitches and business development as needed.
- Promote positive sentiment internally and externally to uphold the reputation of Hunt Lascaris.
- Serve as an inspirational role model.
5) People and collaboration
- Help shape the creative department to meet the evolving needs of Hunt Lascaris and its clients.
- Communicate business goals to teams and articulate the creative contribution of these goals to the chief creative officer or executive creative directors.
- Inspire, coach, and guide creative teams to foster individual and collective improvement.
- Support proactive recruitment and staff development.
- Assist in setting objectives for the department and in managing budgets.
- Lead accurate work time recording for yourself and your teams.
Knowledge and experience required
- Over five years as a creative director in a leading creative agency or company with the capability to generate, guide, sell, and produce world-class ideas for Hunt Lascaris and its clients.
