Senior Bookkeeper

MAF RODA RSA (PTY) LTD, a subsidiary of the global MAF RODA Group, specialises in manufacturing, supplying, and installing grading, sorting, and packing technology for the fruit and vegetable industry.

We are looking for an experienced financial manager /senior bookkeeper to oversee our finance operations and support business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Financial management: Full accounting function, including intercompany transactions with head office in France.
• Team Leadership: Manage a small admin team (office administrator + potential future storeman).
• Accounting and reporting: Oversee debtors, creditors, cashbooks, and statutory returns (VAT, EMP201, EMP501, WCA).
• HR and payroll: Process payroll via Pastel Payroll and manage HR functions for a team of 12.
• Cashflow and inventory: Monitor stock levels, purchases, debt collection, and maintain database integrity.
• Project costing: Implement reporting for real-time project cost tracking.
• Office and audit management: Oversee office operations, insurance, and work with auditors on compliance.

Requirements

• Education: BCom in financial management /accounting or equivalent. Candidates in their 3rd year of part-time studies will also be considered.
• Experience: Minimum two years in a management role.
• Technical Skills:
• Excel (Intermediate)
• Pastel / Sage Evolution for accounting
• Pastel Payroll (Required)
• FNB Online Banking (Advantageous)
• Languages:
• English (Speak and Write)
• Afrikaans (Fluent)
• Spanish and/or French (Advantageous)
• Additional:
• Experience in multi-currency accounting (2+ years)
• Knowledge of logistics (Advantageous)
• Experience with SARS statutory returns and Department of Labour submissions
