Purpose
To manage the route patrol services, administer the contact centre and incident management system (IMS) to ensure full compliance with our contractual obligations, the Company Policies and Procedures, provide accuse information to process insurance claims, ensure a safe road for the road users, and maintain relations of the highest quality with all emergency services along our route.
Qualifications, skills and required competencies to meet the job outcomes
- Manage a team of patrol drivers, communications
- Clerks and fleet administration assistant
- Grade 12
- Any managerial certificate would be advantages
- Valid Unendorsed Code 08 drivers licence
- Required to drive a light motor vehicle on a daily basis in any weather condition.
- At least 1-2 years related experience in a similar role
- Excellent communication skills (both written and written)
- Interpersonal relationship skills
- Assertiveness
- Knowledge of road assets
- Time management
- Computer literacy skills
- Self-management
- Strong administrative skills
- Traffic management skills
- The daily physical demands are those required of an office worker.
- The applicant will be required to have a valid driverâ??s license.
- Time will be spend at accident scenes and as such cannot be overly sensitive to the characteristics of an accident scene.
- The successful candidate will be required to be available for standby purposes every evening and every weekend. The candidate should be willing to be Standby 24/7 on call.
- The road span over an area of ±380km.
- Ensure shift handover/vehicle handover report is completed.
- Ensure proper patrols on the highway takes place to determine damage to the road and road furniture.
- Ensure proper patrols on the highway takes place to assist stranded motorists.
- Ensure proper patrols on the highway takes place to ensure a safe journey for motorists.
- Respond to SOS calls and serious accidents/incidents that lead to, or may lead to closure of the N1N4 Bakwena Highway.
- Ensure proper recordkeeping of all incidents and accidents takes place.
- Prepare and present all relevant reports as prescribed.
- Ensure shift rosters that comply with legal obligations are drawn up and adhered to.
- Ensure salaries are paid timeously and correctly paid by complying with the Company Manpower Procedure.
- Ensure the vehicles are maintained in such a manner that they will be safe to use and will portray a positive Company image and that of our client.
- Ensure that the Patrol Driversâ?? attire and uniforms portray a positive Company image and that of our client.
- Ensure subordinate staff is motivated by ensuring job enrichment, training, development and proper internal communication takes place.
- Ensure that subordinate staff is issued with all the relevant equipment and maintain the equipment in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and security at work.
- Ensure disciplined subordinate staff by following the Company Disciplinary Procedure and Code of Conduct.
- Ensure excellent relations with the road users and emergency services staff are available at all times.
- Take responsibility for the performance of the call centre and the quality of service provided to all the departments receiving a service from the call centre staff.
- Coordinate call centre staff functions and workload to ensure that the route patrol support functions, public queries (e-tag and general) and complaints are dealt with professionally and to the satisfaction of the Operations Manager.
