This week on social media
Let's have a look at this week's Acumen Media social media roundup.
There are a few more days until the country votes in the 2019 General Election on 8 May and it's taking priority over citizens' consciousness. Other than the election, South African social media users were up in arms after the IAAF ruled against Caster Semenya.
Still in the news is the State Capture Inquiry, this time because of the Booysens testimony. Even though the country celebrated Workers' Day, it wasn't talked about much on social media.
There were cheers all round as Multichoice decided to take a stand against Afrikaans musician Steve Hofmeyr and ban all his content from its channels. On the flipside, there were boos for AfriForum after the organisation decided to challenge the Nelson Mandela Foundation's efforts to ban the apartheid flag.
Other news rounding up the top 10 biggest stories on social media include Eskom, Ace Magashule, the PIC Inquiry and the cyclones causing devastation in Mozambique.
